Bandai Namco appears to be bringing a new first-party game to the Nintendo Switch. Reset Poster Snikdasnek shared job listings for the project from Japanese site Bandai Namco. The project was apparently contracted by Nintendo, and it will be a rework/remake of the 3D action game. The company appears to be looking for people who can work on “HD remakes of 3D wallpapers”. Unfortunately, there are no additional hints as to what the project might be, but these job listings are sure to lead to huge speculation from Nintendo fans over the coming days!
Naturally, fellow posters of SnackDaySync have already provided some possible guesses for what the game could be. A lot of people have guessed that it could be Kid Icarus: Uprisingan action game released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2012. uprising It has a passionate fan base, but the game could find a much larger audience on the Nintendo Switch. It wouldn’t be the first 3D game to do the jump either; Last year, Nintendo contracted with Grezzo to handle the Switch port for mitopia.
Of course, the GameCube era has plenty of great titles to bring to the Switch. Some posters speculated that Bandai Namco could be hired to remake one of the Metroid Prime Games, despite rumors that Retro Studios has already completed development of a modified version of the first game. One of the stickers also guessed it could be Eternal Darkness: Requiem for the MindNotably, Nightdive Studios has expressed an interest in re-mastering this game. Stephen Cake, CEO of Nightdive, revealed in February that Nintendo “always avoids working with third-party developers.” Perhaps Nintendo instead chose to have Bandai Namco work on the game, given the close relationship the two maintain!
Unfortunately, this is all just guesswork at the moment. Over the past five years, Nintendo has brought some of its best games to the Switch, but the truth is that there are plenty of great games still missing on the platform. For now, fans will have to wait and see what will be revealed!
